Orthopaedic Rehabilitation

Surgery corrects the structural problem; it does not by itself restore function. Muscles weakened during the painful weeks beforehand, lost joint range and altered movement patterns do not recover on their own. Fzt. Aydın Ali runs orthopaedic rehabilitation in line with your surgeon's loading protocol and on the basis of measurement.

When is it needed?

  • Loss of strength and range after shoulder, knee or hip surgery
  • Joint stiffness and swelling that will not settle
  • Difficulty returning to daily tasks or work
  • Pain and restriction with overhead or weight-bearing activity
  • Uncertainty about when it is safe to return to sport

What we do

  • Range of motion, strength and balance measurements
  • Swelling and pain control in the early stage
  • Manual therapy to restore joint mobility
  • Graded strengthening in line with tissue healing
  • Movement pattern retraining for daily tasks
  • Criteria-based return to work or sport

The three priorities of the early stage

Swelling suppresses muscle activation directly, so it is controlled first. Range of motion lost in the first weeks is far harder to regain later — this is especially true for the knee and shoulder. Muscles also tend to 'forget' after surgery, which early, light activation prevents.

Why loading is graded

A repaired tendon or ligament needs time to reach a given strength. Push too early and the repair is at risk; wait too long and the loss of strength and movement becomes permanent.

For this reason each stage has measurable criteria: you move on when a range or strength target is met, not when a date arrives.

Frequently asked questions

When should rehabilitation start after surgery?

For most orthopaedic operations, within the first days. Every week of delay increases the loss that has to be regained later.

What should I bring to the first session?

Your operation report and any loading instructions from your surgeon. These determine the plan.

How is the decision to return to sport made?

Not by 'feeling ready' but by measurement: the strength difference between sides, balance tests and sport-specific functional tests.
