Strength and Conditioning

Strength is not only for athletes: muscle mass and strength are among the most powerful protective factors against pain at any age. What makes strength work with a physiotherapist different is that the programme is based on measurement and takes your injury history into account. Fzt. Aydın Ali runs these sessions one-to-one; no more than one person is seen at a time.

Controlled strength work with a dumbbell

When is it needed?

  • Not being sure you are training with the right technique
  • Recurring back, shoulder or knee pain after training
  • Being unable to load confidently because of a past injury
  • Looking for a safe restart after a long inactive period
  • Needing a planned route to a specific goal
  • Wanting to stop age-related loss of muscle and strength

What we do

  • Baseline measurements: strength, range, balance and posture
  • Movement quality screening and identification of weak links
  • A periodised strength programme built for you
  • Technique coaching with correction on every repetition
  • Safe progression through graded loading
  • Cardiovascular conditioning and endurance work
  • Re-measurement at set intervals and programme updates

Why with a physiotherapist?

Strength training is one of the safest forms of exercise when done properly; problems almost always come from dose and technique. A physiotherapist can read how pain and past injury affect movement and build the programme around that.

The assessment looks not only at how much you lift but at how you move. Increasing load before gaps in hip, shoulder and trunk control are addressed simply brings pain back later.

No progress without measurement

Baseline measurements mean progress rests on numbers rather than on how you feel. Repeating them at intervals shows which area is lagging so the programme can be updated.

This reaches the goal faster and prevents overload injuries.

Frequently asked questions

I have never trained — is this for me?

Yes. The programme is built on your current capacity. For complete beginners the first weeks are given entirely to technique and basic movement quality.

Can I do strength work while I have pain?

In most cases yes; the assessment decides which movements are adapted. Pain is information for setting the dose, not a reason to avoid movement entirely.

How is this different from a gym trainer?

A physiotherapist can assess pain and injury history clinically and adapt the programme accordingly. Where there is a health problem or a past injury, that difference is decisive.
